Farm Camp

June 22-26, 2026

Farm Camp at Outside Inn

Five days. Real animals. Dirt under your fingernails and a smile you can't shake. Farm Camp at Outside Inn is a one-week day camp for kids ages 5–15 set right here on our working farm in Santee, SC. Every morning starts the way farm life always does — feeding the animals and doing real chores alongside our family. From there, each day takes on a life of its own, built around the creatures that call this place home. Cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks — your kid will get up close and personal with all of them.

Each themed day brings a new animal adventure — hands-on activities, games in the field, and a craft to take home. Lunch and free play break up the afternoon before winding back up with more time out among the animals. It's structured enough to keep kids engaged, loose enough to let them just be kids on a farm. Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm, with daily rates, a full-week option, and a camp-and-stay package that adds seven nights of camping for families who want to make a real week of it.

Spots are limited — this is a small, hands-on experience by design. If your kid has ever been curious about where food comes from, fallen in love with an animal, or just needs a summer week that feels genuinely different, this is it.

DAILY AGENDA

1
Every day starts the way real farm life does — feeding the animals, filling water troughs, and learning what it takes to keep a working farm running. Kids roll up their sleeves from the moment they arrive.
2
Each day spotlights a different animal on the farm — from our Highland cattle to Stella the kune kune pig — with guided time to learn about their care, behavior, and role on the farm. It's hands-on education that actually sticks.
3
Kids bring home something made with their own hands every day, inspired by the animal they spent the morning with. Think painted rocks, woven projects, decorated eggs, and more.
4
A midday break to refuel, recharge, and run free on the playground. Pack a lunch and let them decompress before the afternoon adventures begin
5
From Cow Olympics to egg hunts to the Junior Farmer Challenge on the last day, each afternoon brings a game or activity tied to the day's theme. Expect friendly competition, a lot of laughing, and a little friendly chaos.
6

The part every kid looks forward to most — unstructured time just being with the animals. Pet them, sit with them, talk to them. No agenda, just connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Farm Camp is open to kids ages 5–15. We keep the group hands-on and interactive, so all ages stay engaged — younger campers will love the animals up close while older kids can take on bigger responsibilities around the farm.

Camp runs Monday through Friday, June 22–26, from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily. Please plan to drop off no earlier than 9:00am and pick up by 3:00pm.

Lunch is not included — please send your child with a packed lunch and a water bottle each day. We have refrigerators for lunches to be stored during the day.

Closed-toe shoes every day — no exceptions on a working farm. Clothes you don't mind getting dirty, a hat for sun protection, and sunscreen applied before arrival. On Tuesday and Thursday we have water activities planned, so pack a change of clothes and a towel those days.

Our animals are accustomed to people and interactions regularly. That said, every child is different — if your child has a specific fear or sensitivity around a particular animal, just let us know at registration and we'll do our best to make sure they're comfortable.

Parents are responsible for packing a lunch and snacks that are safe and appropriate for their child's dietary needs and allergies. We are a working farm with animals, hay, and all the elements that come with outdoor farm life — please use your best judgment about whether Farm Camp is the right fit for your child's individual health needs. If there is anything we should be aware of to help make your child's week safer or more comfortable, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly before registering.

A $100 deposit is required at registration to hold your child's spot. Daily passes are paid in full at the time of registration. The remaining balance for full week and Camp & Stay packages is due by June 1st. Deposits are non-refundable after April 15th. Camping accommodations for the Camp & Stay package are booked separately — after completing your Farm Camp registration you'll receive a discount link via email to book your campsite. Campsites are subject to Outside Inn's standard booking and cancellation policy.
